Breakwater Books, The Marketplace Offering Book Buzz Series

Breakwater Books and The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center announce the Book Buzz Series of author events beginning in May, to be held at The Marketplace, 77 Whitfield Street, Guilford. Breakwater Books will be selling the books, and The Marketplace will provide treats from the recipes in each of the author’s books, as well as offering wine and craft beer.

This is a free event series. Call Breakwater Books at 203-453-4141 to register. Seating is limited. The book talks will include the following authors:

Wednesday, May 3 at 7 p.m.

Three mystery writers will each speak about their mysteries that all involve food.

Lucy Burdette is the author of the Key West food critic mysteries that debuted with An Appetite for Murder. The most recent book in the series is titled Killer Takeout.

Barbara Ross is the author of the Clambake Mystery Series including Clammed Up, Boiled Over, Musseled Out, Fogged Inn, and Iced Under. Fogged Inn takes place partially in Guilford.

Liz Mugavero is the author of the Pawsitively Organic Mysteries. The first book, Kneading to Die, is a 2013 Agatha nominee for Best First Novel. The series includes A Biscuit, A Casket, The Icing on the Corpse, and Murder Most Finicky.

Ann Nyberg

Remembering Katherine Hepburn

Ann Nyberg is the longest serving, full-time anchor/reporter in Connecticut television history, anchoring the news at WTNH-TV (ABC) in New Haven. She also hosts her own on-air and online long format chat show called Nyberg, on which she interviews innovators, entrepreneurs, and everyday folk—anybody who has a story to tell. Her website Network Connecticut spotlights people, places, innovators, entrepreneurs, and small businesses all over the state. She has been nominated for multiple Emmys and, in November 2015, was inducted into the prestigious Silver Circle. Nyberg has made significant contributions to her southern New England community, she is a founding Board of Trustees member of the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (The Kate) in Old Saybrook.
