Justin Bischof, artistic director, conductor, and organist, will be joined by Rafael Ubal, a classical pianist, at the Holy Advent Church in Clinton on Sunday, May 7, at 4 p.m. The concert will showcase the church’s keyboards and celebrate the new enhancement to the John Waggoner organ.

Bischof is the director of music at The Church of St. James the Less, artistic director of The Canadian Chamber Orchestra of New York City CCO/NYC, and of the New York City-based Modus Opera Company. In addition to his growing presence in and around New York City with these ensembles, past seasons have seen him work with orchestras in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Haiti, Russia, Australia, and Oman. He is known as “a master improviser of the highest order.”

Ubal is a professor at Northeastern University in Boston. He is a classically trained pianist born in Madrid and completed his music studies at the Jose Iturbi Conservatory in Valencia. He has performed in a number of concerts and venues including the Ateneo Theatre in Madrid in 2008 as part of a multi- arts recital. Ubal continues piano as a hobby, studying his favorite composers F. Chopin, F. Liszt, and S. Rachmaninoff.

A free will offering will be taken.
