Among its other merits, it is right around the corner from where we work. But his love for Grand Apizza pizza goes beyond that. One of his first orders was from their “Gourmet Suggestions” menu for a mashed potato and bacon pizza. A while later, he ordered the same thing, but this time with tomato sauce. He says the mashed potato and bacon with red sauce is even better than the really good mashed potato and bacon white pizza. “Most people get it white, but my philosophy is that everything is better with tomato sauce,” he says. We asked him why it took him so long, several months, to order the red sauce variation, and he said that’s because he was working his way through some of the rest of the gourmet suggestions menu, which includes a Hawaiian special with pineapple, a shrimp Florentine pizza, and even a mozzarella spaghetti and meatball special for those who can’t decide between pizza and pasta.
