Shoreline Greenway Trail Hosting Hikers, Artists

The Shoreline Greenway Trail is hosting a walk through the Hammonasset section of the trail in Madison on Saturday, May 6 at 10 a.m. The walk will features vistas of the coastal upland forest and the shores of Long Island Sound. Weather permitting, artists from the Madison Art Society will be painting en plein air along the trail. The trip will be about two miles round trip over easy terrain. The group will start at the eastern trailhead parking lot, east of the entrance to Hammonasset Beach State Park—take exit 62 from I-95, go south, take a left on Route 1, and take the first right into the trail parking lot.

The Shoreline Greenway Trail is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to building a 25-mile path for bicyclists, walkers, and hikers on the Connecticut shoreline from Lighthouse Point in New Haven through East Haven, Branford, and Guilford to Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison.
