The Paintings of Alfred Tulk, North Haven Artist, On Display

The Musician, Alfred Tulk

Who is Alfred James Tulk?

If you aren’t familiar with this artist who lived and worked in North Haven from the early 1960s until his death in 1988, now is your opportunity.

There will be an opening reception for an exhibit of his work in the Community Room of the North Haven Memorial Library, 17 Elm Street, North Haven on Wednesday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. The library will display a collection of Tulk paintings, realistic to abstract. Attendees will also have an opportunity to view a brief interview done around 1986, in Tulk’s North Haven studio, by two students from North Haven High School.

Tulk was so impressed with the quality of questions by the students that he donated one of his paintings to the high school. This program is a joint project of the North Haven Historical Society and Museums and the North Haven Memorial Library. It is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
