Half-Price Happy Hour(s) at Aspen

Looking for a affordable and fun place to have a drink and a nosh? We recently went to Aspen, at 2 Main Street, Old Saybrook. Aspen has a cozy bar and features half-price appetizers Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. The bar menu apps include spicy pork dumplings, steamed mussels, duck wontons, short rib sliders, Philly cheese-steak egg rolls, Poutine (with bacon, scallion, cheese curds, and gravy...yum), and that old standby, deviled eggs, though these are gussied up with bacon and onion jam.
