Nibbles: Aldi

Many years ago I loved to go clothes shopping and bargain shopping. My sister-in-law and I would be out early the day after Christmas to buy wrapping paper, ribbons, and labels at 50 percent off. But now that our children are long gone and most of their children want gift cards instead of toys, I love the fact that I don’t have to shop at all.

Except for food. Even when I travel, I spend an inordinate amount of time at farm stands and supermarkets. And, for those of you who think supermarkets aren’t exciting, you have never been to a Wegman’s.

Within a couple of weeks, an Aldi is opening half a mile from where I live. It is famous for excellent produce and meat and low prices. And now all Aldi’s will serve organic and non-GMO groceries. I am psyched. Keep your eyes peeled.
