Is The Stand Really That Good?

If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s hype. And so I was wondering, was it true, then, all those raves I was hearing about The Stand Roadside BBQ and Market, which opened late summer at 196 South Montowese Street, Branford? The food! The fun! The vibe! Hmmm. I had to try it myself. We got there a little late on a Saturday, about 8:45 p.m. just before the band was about to start up. There was still plenty of food, and the server behind the counter happily piled on this and that as we pointed. We opted for the ribs, brisket, pulled pork, with a couple of sides including Elote, corn prepared Mexican street style. The pulled pork was mmmmgood, the brisket was great, and the ribs were beyond amazing. The Sin Sisters went on at 9 and played through the night, so we got to dance it all off along with some new friends we made that night. Yes, it’s as good as they say it is, and even better.
