The Voyage to Magical North by Claire Fayers

Brine has no idea who she is or where she came from. Now she cooks and cleans for the arrogant magician, Tallis Magus, but when he decides he’s going to trade her, she’s had enough and runs away. Joining her is Peter, the magician’s annoying assistant. They end up on a pirates ship heading to Magical North and facing magician Marfak West, who’s far worse than Tallis Magus. I liked the way this story alternated between Brine’s and Peter’s points of view, which makes it a great read for both guys and girls. Also, it’s filled with humor. An awesome debut novel; I can’t wait for the next installment!
