Meet and Greet, Plus Art Demo, with Artist at Killingworth Library

Gazebo with Swans, Dan Dahlstrom

Painter Daniel Dahlstrom will hold a meet-and-greet at the Killingworth Library, 301 Route 81, Killingworth, on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon. He will also provide an art demonstration so attendees and library patrons can see a work in progress. Dahlstrom’s work will be on display at the Killingworth Library throughout the month of August. Ten percent of any sales during that month will benefit the library.

Dahlstrom is a Connecticut native, was raised in Essex, and worked in the family decorating business for many years, and currently resides in Chester. His work has been accepted into many local juried shows, including the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London, held in conjunction with the Lyme Art Association.

Dahlstrom has studied at the Lyme Art Academy, and with several professional, local artists. Presently, he is working on several pieces for his upcoming exhibits and commissioned pieces. He has commissioned pieces on display at the Water’s Edge Resort, Westbrook, The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, Haddam, and in private collections.

His inspiration comes from the light effects of nature. He often paints scenes of Chester, the Connecticut River, Long Island Sound, and the surrounding vistas of the countryside of New England. He enjoys working en plein air (in the open air), and in his studio.
