The Guilford Free Library (GFL) and Madison's Scranton Library present the Galleries in Motion series for 2013. The topic of this year's art slide lecture series is "Going Dutch (and Flemish): Art in 17th-Century Flanders and the Dutch Republic." The series is led by Joy M. Pepe, professor emerita of Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts. Pepe currently teaches various art history courses at University of Hartford and Central Connecticut State University.

The series includes four lectures on Wednesdays at 2 p.m.: Jan. 23 and 30 at Scranton Library, 801 Boston Post Road, Madison; and Feb. 6 and 13 at GFL, 67 Park Street. This series is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Friends of the Scranton Memorial Library and the Friends of the Guilford Library. Both Friends groups provide refreshments for the events. The snow date for a canceled program is Wednesday, Feb. 20 at GFL.
