A Twist on the Mule

We've all seen (if not tried) a Moscow Mule. Traditionally served in a copper mug with a slice or wedge of lime, the traditional mule has been enjoying something of a resurgence in popularity. What we may not have all tried is the French Mule, a take-off on its Russian cousin that uses brandy instead of vodka, or the Paris Mule, which features a helping of Calvados.

Calvados could easily be described as autumn in a glass. It's a French brandy made from apples grown in the Normandy region of France. The pairing of apple brandy with the traditional ginger of the Moscow Mule is a combination you need to try for yourself.

Ingredients

1½ ounces Calvados

4 ounces ginger beer

Lime wedge

Directions

Add ice to a copper mug and top it with Calvados and ginger beer. Serve with a lime wedge.
