The Skinny on Watermelon
Few things announce the coming of summer more than watermelon. Be it in slices, cubed chunks, or liquefied in a glass surrounded by ice and tequila, watermelon is cool, refreshing, and downright delicious. And, best yet, this tasty cocktail is just 100 calories. You can indulge in this summary drink guilt-free this summer.
1 oz tequila
½ cup cubed watermelon
.1 oz simple syrup
.1 oz soda water (ginger ale can be used
as a slightly higher-calorie substitute)
5 cilantro pieces
Muddle watermelon with cilantro leaves. Add ice, simple syrup, and tequila. Shake vigorously and pour ice in a rocks glass. Top with soda water. Garnish with a piece of watermelon. Swap gin for tequila and mint for cilantro for another delicious version of this summer-time skinny cocktail.
