It was Blues at the Beach! on Saturday afternoon at the East Haven Town Beach, when The Cobalt Rhythm Kings performed under the porch of the Beachhouse. Performers included,  Greg Benn on guitar, (filling in for Tom Smith), former long time drummer for the band Gil Hawkins, Wendell Jones on bass guitar and vocals, and Mark Zaretsky, vocals and harmonica. Haley and Jay Bodner enjoyed  the blues at the beach.

The Town of East Haven celebrated the Class of 2020 with a Motorcade through the town, starting at Town Grove parking lot on Cosey Beach Ave and ending up at the High School Sunday afternoon. Annarose Russo and Michael Perrelli handed out blue and yellow carnations to the seniors as they drove by.

A peaceful rally was held on the East Haven Town Green where  the community gathered and came together with the East Haven Police Department to address the death George Floyd. East Haven's Mayor JOe Carfora joined with Darly Airault-Sepulveda, Kristin Carr, Lt. Joseph Murgo, State Rep Joe Zullo, Lori Wilbur-Carr and Chief Edward Lennon in linking arms for a moment of silence.

East Haven Unites Against Police Brutality

Cars were lined up at the East Haven Food Pantry on 39 Park Place at the Christ Epiphany Church on Saturday morning for a food pick up from 10 am - 12 noon.  The volunteers worked non-stop to keep the line moving. Chase Wheeler heads back down to get more food, Ally Conway looks to grab a bag of food, Diane Quido carries two bags of food as Kathy Umlauf places two bags in the back of the car.

Feeding Neighbors in East Haven

The Old Stone Church, First Congregational Church of East Haven, United Church of Christ met in the parking lot behind the church  Sunday morning with parishioners sitting in their cars listing to the service on the radio station 94.7 FM or over the PA syterm, with some parishoners watching from home with a live stream running.  Pastor Mark Pilletere presiding. Stephanie Kilburn monitored the video streaming, Pastor Mark Pilletere welcomed those gathered, Kristen Vineyard was the Lay Reader, Jonathan Budd lead the music.

Yellowjackets’ Girls’ Hoops Wins SCC Opener

The East Haven Lions Club sponsored an Italian Night Fundraiser at the Christ & The Epiphany Church Sunday February 23rd.  The event featured entertainment by Singer/ DJ Rich DePalma and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds from the dinner benefit disaster relief and youth hunger prevention efforts.

East Haven Lions Club Holds Italian Night Fundraiser

The Hagaman Memorial Library hosted a Teen Chocolate Tasting Thursday February 13th.  Participants sampled eight different chocolates including a variety of white, milk and dark chocolate.  The teens rated and compared the chocolates on their different characteristics.

A Go Red for Women Dinner and Fashion Show was held Saturday night at Seasons,  East Haven. the event included  a buffet dinner, cash bar, and a red dress fashion show with  dresses by AþÄôs Unique Boutique in Guilford. The proceeds benefit the American Heart Association. The East Haven Hagaman Memorial Library, celebrated þÄúTake Your Child to the Library DayþÄù Saturday February 1st with a shadow puppet show by puppeteer Jim Napolitano. NappyþÄôs Puppets presented songs and stories, including one about the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rat. Children were also given a free book to home take home courtesy of CT Humanities.

The Emerald Aisle Fashion Show presented þÄúAn Evening of EnchantmentþÄù Saturday January 18th at the Irish-American Community Center to benefit the St PatrickþÄôs day Parade.
