Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisans Store of Centerbrook presents its first 2021 Show, The Human + Animal Bond with an open house weekend Saturday and Sunday, January 23rd and 24th(12:30-6pm). Enjoy wine and bagged snacks at the gallery during the opening weekend and help us celebrate the New Year! The exhibit closes March 7, 2021. We all bond with animals both wild and domesticated. During months of quarantine this bond for many of us kept us sane and hopeful. But even before the pandemic this bond is evident everywhere—in stories, films, books and art. We awake to birds singing. Tell our pets our secrets near the fireplace. Cover our ears at the shrieks of jackals taking down their prey and cover our eyes to not view the unnecessary killing of animals. This show displays original art in all mediums including photography that expresses our deep bond with animals both wild and domesticated. Also shop and browse our artisan shop with handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, glass, wood, wearable and fiber art.
