The coronavirus crisis has nearly halted the local economy — including media advertising. That means local, independent news organizations such as ours must fight for our own survival while continuing to provide critical news and information as a public service during this unprecedented situation. If you believe local reporting is important and you're able to lend support during this pandemic, click here for info on making a tax-deductible donation.

States of Mind is a new exhibition by twelve southeastern Connecticut artists that form the co-operative artist group called Gallery One. The strength of this exhibition is derived from the diversity of backgrounds and experiences of the artists represented. Each artist’s work is their individual creation with its own rhythm, life, language, and heritage. Expect to find paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, and ceramics in styles that range from representational to abstract. This interesting and varied show of more than 50 works opens with a reception on Saturday, July 6 from 6-8pm with live jazz music. The gallery will be open Wed. – Sat. 1-6 pm or by appointment.
