Join the Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center and conservation biologist Jim Arrigoni on a guided ecology hike of The Essex Land Trust’s Great Meadow in Essex.
We will follow a trail on the bank of the Connecticut River, with spectacular views of the cliff face of Joshua’s Rock and the forested hills of Lyme. Bald Eagles are likely to be spotted perching or soaring above the River, as well as Northern Harriers hunting over the interior marshes of North Cove. Offshore, rafts of Common Goldeneye and other wintering ducks are likely.
Afterward, we will adjourn to the Griswold Inn to warm up by the fire with a hot beverage and recap of this final Estuary Exploration offering of 2017. Rain date is Sunday, November 12.
