The Morgan boys’ lacrosse team earned a split in a pair of games last week. The victory marked the first win this year for Head Coach Brendan Hylan’s squad and puts the Huskies’ record at 1-3.
On April 9, Morgan dropped a 10-5 road contest against North Branford. Two days later, the Huskies notched their first win in a 17-4 home game against Cromwell. Morgan jumped out to a 14-2 lead by the end of the first half, and never allowed the Panthers to get into the game.
Ryan Caldwell scored seven goals, while Zak Johnson added three assists in the victory. Matt Lee notched four goals and one assist, and Ford Pender scored two goals with one assist. Tim Lichack added a goal and an assist. Liam Trahant (1 goal), Tyler Forchielli (1 goal), Mike Savage (1 goal) all scored in the win. Morgan goalkeeper Matt Luchuk made nine saves in the contest.
The Huskies won a game and lost a game last week. With these results, Morgan moved its record to 3-2 on the year.
On April 9, Morgan lost a 17-7 home game versus North Branford. On April 13, the Huskies headed to Somers where they secured a road victory by a narrow 7-6 margin
The Morgan boys’ tennis squad earned two wins in a slate of three matches last week. Head Coach Chris Zawadski’s squad moved its record to 4-2 on the season.
On April 10, the Huskies grabbed a 7-0 road win over Haddam-Killingworth. In the singles matches, Chris Nuzzo earned a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory in the No. 1 position. At the No. 2 spot Garrett Johnson earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory, while Paddy Murray also scored a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at the No. 3 position. In the No. 4 match, JP Nye netted a 6-1, 6-1 win, and Alex Urban was victorious, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, at the No. 5 spot. As for doubles, Zach Johnson and Liam Whelan grabbed a shutout win with a 6-0, 6-0 score in the No. 1 match. Isaac Adler and Calvin Jackson received a victory by default at the No. 2 spot.
The next day, Morgan lost a 5-2 home match against Cromwell. Nuzzo picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win at the No. 1 singles position, while Nye grabbed a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the No. 4 spot.
On April 12, Morgan earned a victory by forfeit against North Branford.
The Huskies won two of their three matches in last week’s action. The two victories and single loss moved Morgan’s record to 2-5 on the season.

Morgan lost all three of the games it had scheduled last week. With the defeats, the Huskies record dropped to 1-5 on the year.
On April 9, Morgan lost a 6-2 road matchup with North Branford. The next day, the Huskies headed to Portland, where they took a 10-0 defeat against the Highlanders. On April 12, Morgan lost a 2-1 decision at home versus Haddam-Killingworth.

Morgan got a win in its first week of action with three games on the slate last week. Head Coach Eric Bergman’s squad is off to a 1-2 start in the early stages of the 2019 campaign.
On April 9, the Huskies lost a 161-203 match at home at the Clinton Country Club versus Hand. Jason Cohen turned in a score of 46, while Ethan Tessman shot a 51. Ryan Powers and Matt Zoner both tallied a total of 53 strokes in the loss.
The next day, Morgan lost a 158-182 road decision versus Old Saybrook at Fenwick Golf Course. Jason Cohen and Ethan Tessman each shot a score of 46, while Ryan Powers and John Inglis both shot a 49. Matt Zoner turned in the Huskies’ lowest score of 41.
On April 11, Morgan scored a 189-192 road win versus Haddam-Killingworth at Black Birch Country Club. Cohen took home medalist honors with his score of 42. Trevor Rohrbacher shot a 48, Ryan Powers scored a 49, and Matt Zoner turned in a tally of 50.
