Margaret M. Bennett, 100, Westbrook, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Jan. 30, with family by her side. Margaret was born on Jan. 25, 1917, in Hartford.
Margaret was employed by Pratt and Whitney, retiring in 1985. She was a parishioner at St. John’s Catholic Church in Old Saybrook. Margaret will be remembered for assisting in starting the Old Saybrook Senior Meal Program.
Margaret is survived by daughters Carolyn Janus of Killingworth, Marilyn Urban of Colechester, and Kathlyn Parks and husband Charles Parks of Westbrook. She was predeceased by daughter Fayolyn Bergeron and son Franklyn Bennett. Margaret leaves behind 12 grandchildren with many great-, great-great-, and great-great-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass was held Feb. 8 at St. John’s Church in Old Saybrook. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook. Swan Funeral Home, Old Saybrook, handled the arrangements for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Middlesex Hospital.
