Thomas Whyte O’Neil and Emily Margaret O’Neil Celebrate 50 Years
Thomas Whyte O’Neil and Emily Margaret O’Neil (Rosensteel) of 122 Russet Drive, Guilford, recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Their daughter, Meg Teape, and son-in-law, Mike Teape, along with their son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Beth O’Neil, hosted a party in their honor with family and friends. In addition, Tom and Emily will be celebrating in June at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C., where they were engaged in 1964.
The couple married on May 1, 1965 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
They have a son, Thomas Joseph O’Neil and wife, Elizabeth O’Neil; a daughter, Meg Teape and husband, Mike Teape; and grandchildren Patrick, 14, Paige, 11, Emily, 3, and James, 2.
Tom is a writer and an adjunct professor in the English Department at Gateway Community College. Emily is a retired kindergarten and pre-kindergarten teacher and director at Sacred Heart/Saint Peter’s School in New Haven.
Emily and Tom were longtime residents of Branford and raised their children in Stony Creek. In 1999 they moved to Guilford, where they have loved living for the past 16 years. They are beloved neighbors and community members and parishioners of St. George. They can often be found walking on the Green with their dog, Sammy, and the grandchildren.
