Rocco and Viarda (Tonucci) Totino of Waterford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 2, 2011. In 1961, they were married at St. Mary's Church in New London.
They have three daughters, Antonella Hartman and her husband, Hans of Stonington, Daniela Gorman and her husband, John of Preston, and Nadia McGourthy and her husband, Tim of Worcester. They have four grandchildren, Zoe and Jack Hartman and JT and Conor Gorman.
A surprise reception was held at their daughter's home in Preston with family and friends. Mr. Totino is a retired Pfizer scientist where he worked with central research for 35 years.
