UPDATED: Man tried to rob pregnant woman in Old Saybrook

Old Saybrook — Police are looking for a man who they say attempted to rob a pregnant woman Tuesday night outside of the Super Stop and Shop on Elm Street.

Police said the woman was leaving the grocery story at 9:45 p.m. when a man approached her from behind and demanded money.

The woman was able to escape without injury. She told police that she thought the man had a weapon.

The robber fled on foot to a waiting vehicle.

Police have made no arrests and anyone with any information is asked to call them at (860) 395-3142.
